Discretionary incomes of remote workers increase by reducing expenses for lunches, parking, transportation, dry cleaning, etc. Teams are no longer bound by geography. Companies based in Montreal and Toronto especially can recruit talent from across the country and better blend Anglophone/Francophone cultures. Structured "ZOOM" calls are very effective and meeting face-to-face once or twice a month in person works well for many. A one size fits all solution is not viable for all.
